Please please reconsider this petition. I have a first grader and a third grader. My third grader is doing well so far but my first grader is doing his best. If they went 1/2 they would get exactly what they need. They need to focus on learning how to read. He needs that time. Foxborough is doing a great job. They go in do math and reading in person. They go home have lunch and end with a special. It’s the most useful of our time and the teacher. They can focus on am and pm groups. 2 days with no interaction with a teacher is not ok. I also do not work from home. When I block of time at work to help with homeschooling and my son has a 2 hour lunch break I can help but feel like this is a waste of my time. I want to be there for my kids as much as possible but I want to make the most of my time, my kids time and the teachers time. Please reconsider

These kids need to be back in school. Three days a week with NO teacher is unacceptable.

I am signing this petition in support of all elementary kids being in school 5 days a week! I have a 5th grader who is struggling all around. It’s a shame the last year of elementary school will be this way! There have been and will Continue to be many missed opportunities with remote/hybrid! Please allow these kids to be in person to get the most of their education with their teachers!!!

I am signing this to include the JJ as well. My daughter is in 4th grade and would benefit from going to school 5 days a week for 1/2 days.

I am signing this petition request for half day hybrid model for all elementary aged children in grades K-5, at both Robinson and Jordan Jackson schools. As the parent of a 2nd and 5th grader, I firmly believe that it is imperative that children are in school to continue their educational and emotional growth. The current proposed hybrid model of 2 live school days and 3 at home (2 of which are completely free of live teacher instruction and interaction) are a recipe for failure short and long term. Please reconsider this requested model that many surrounding districts are currently using successfully. Thank you.

I agree. It’s been a struggle with my first grader. He can’t sit still, can’t pay attention and is distracted by everything. I don’t feel he is getting the education he should be. Everyday would be amazing so he can learn what he needs to be successful.

My little girl is doing her best but being in school is going to go get her head into education more than sitting at home just going throught the motions on a computer

These younger kids are the ones suffering right now with their education and something needs to be done. I can’t wait to vote out the current school committee

I’m a teacher and my students are back in the hybrid model. These kids need the face to face - with masks of course. My 2 sons are struggling with the current model. Every day is a fight with them...and I’m not even home. My husband is “trying” to work from home while our sitter manages the boys remote learning—- it isn’t working!!

Is this only an administrative call or is the teachers union also a roadblock?

I 100% agree with holding administration accountable. I will be paying attention next time for who is assigned or voted into office. As of know current staff is out IMO. That is unless they change what they are doing and start listening to the people who are pouring in tax money into schools.
There is NO reason The Robinson school can not be opened for K through 3. Teachers can do the same as other professionals who work in airline and other places with close contact. Especially since K- 3 need the social interaction between teachers and other students. We are not asking for entire system to be opened just the most vulnerable kids who need it most at these ages.

More in school needs to be offered. Remote for the youngest children just doesn’t work!
