This City no longer serves the people They are literally robbing its people who put them in power. They forget with out the people they are just ordinary citizens and I would like them to experience day to day life in CT as an ordinary

It seems as if the electricity cost is going up monthly and it is getting impossible to afford. No amount of saving and switching items off seems to make a difference

I'm here to fight for all people who are renting or staying in Wendy's of people's yards. Why should we pay this insane tariffs.Surely the Coct should have consulted with us.

I live alone in Westridge. Last month I bought more than R400 worth of electricity yet I only switch my geyser on once a week. I also recently noticed that the valuation on my house is responsible for the rate I am now paying for my electricity. I'm on early retirement, subsisting on 38% of my previous salary. How does COCT expect me to survive now that the rates for electricity is so steep?

We demand that the City immediately revisit this unaffordable and poverty inducing hike in electricity fees. Just because Councillors do not pay for their own utilities and services, does not mean that they need not study the plight of those on the threshold of bankruptcy !

The bands in the new tariff structure are too broad, and take no account of usage. My electricity bill has almost doubled after the tariff changes, even though my usage was constant. This increase is a ridiculous amount more than inflation and impacted my standard of living. To be more specific, my bill went up roughly 75% in August, that's 17 times more than CPI for July 2017 (which was 4.6% year on year).
