I live in a granny flat and own the main house which I pay normal tarriff. I now have had to move in to my own granny flat which was for 17 years in the life line tarriff. I keep my usage below 350-400 units and just get told without warning that I now have 2 domestic rates. I cannot cope with the illogicalness of this. 8 call And get told it is What it is. You people are highway robbers with staff Who should hang heads in shame

We cannot afford it anymore. Each month we have to sacrifice on essentials. We cannot even afford to spoil our kids or ourselves because each month we pay more and more.

Suddenly my family and I must skip a few days without food just because some Fat cat decided that we are rich. Just because I wanted to give my family and I a better life and struggled to pay a bond on a low salary came to bite me in the backside and now I feel I failed my family cause I can't provide properly for them no more.

I went from R0.97c to R1.69c per unit. I did what was required to save electricity. I use 321 units for the month of June 2017. The 1 July 2017 came then all of a sudden choices came. Either electricity or food. You'll have food in the dark in the cold or warmth and light on an empty tummy.
Please correct this injustice.

The tarrifs should be governed accordingly. Inadequacies in government and at Eskom should be dealt with.
