Totally unacceptable. Why do the poor always have to suffer for the greed of those in power. Salaries don't increase but electricity does??? This makes people use their hard earned food, children,travel money etc to line the pockets of the corrupt.

The hike in electricity prices has been astronomical and I can definitely see a change . renting a property and used to pay R800 per month for electricity and that would keep me till well over the new month . bought 400 so far and its only the 7th!

I am a divorcee already struggling to survive paying a bond now the City takes away my free electricity units and halfs my electricity units I receive it is pathetic. I don't stay in the best of areas and neither does the city keep our streets clean but you want to over charge me.

This is very serious and the city should really look into it I live opposite langa and they can't afford or do not want to pay electricity but almost every shack has a dish on the tax payers money not fair.
What applies to the working people must surely apply to all. How and why can certain eareas pay and others not

We 2 adults and a baby only my husband is working and cannot afford luxury from 250-300 rand it has now doubled too 600 plus minus a month ludicrous if you ask me how must we survive with that and rates and all the other necessities of life, I'm talking about needs now cause there is absolutely no money for luxury

It's was too high.... electricity should be an equal rate too all... or should have a option of R1200 for the month and cost can add more from there
