On the October 25th edition of CBC news, it was reported that Canadian-built electric cars (Zenn Cars, built in Saint Jerome, QC & Dynasty Cars of BC) which are sold in the U.S. and Europe cannot be sold in Canada! Transport Canada will not certify the car for sale even though the cars meet Transport Canada regulations!
Because of this, Dynasty Cars of BC is closing shop in Canada and moving production - Zenn Cars is next.
This is an outrageous situation. In today's smog-congested, toxic cities, clear evidence of world-wide global warming, to not certify cars like that manufactured IN CANADA by Dynasty and Zenn is criminal.
Let us show Transport Canada that Canadians want a cleaner environment, not to mention supporting Canadian jobs and Canadian technology, by demanding that they CERTIFY THE SALE OF THESE ELECTRIC CARS.
Let us not have a repeat of "Who Killed the Electric Car" in Canada!
* Note - I am not affiliated with either of these companies, but, if given the chance, would buy their products.
I have finalized the formal request for a meeting with Transport Canada officials to address the certification roadblocks. My focus is now on drafting the supporting arguments that highlight the inconsistency of their current stance. Expect a summary of their official reply once it arrives.

The volume of support has secured a formal meeting with representatives from the Ministry of Transport regarding the certification process. Legal counsel is now reviewing the specific regulatory hurdles cited by the department to prepare our arguments for that session. I will provide a summary of the outcomes once the discussion concludes.
