Luke Mathew, is a youth program coordinator and research assistant at the Center for Community Health Education Research and Service, Inc. Luke graduated from DePaul University’s school of Liberal Arts and Sciences with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and minor in Spanish. After graduation, Luke served in the Peace Corps in rural Paraguay as an agriculture extensionist. He worked closely with families, agricultural committees, local schools, and NGO’s. He grew up in Roxbury’s Mission Hill neighborhood and holds a master’s in public health at Northeastern University.

I was just walking through the neighborhood and thinking about how much energy Luke actually has for these JPNC meetings because honestly I am exhausted just looking at his resume. People keep stopping me to ask if he is really going to push for these community health programs and I keep telling them to look at what he did in the Peace Corps because that serves as a better answer than anything I could come up with while drinking this cold coffee.

Roxbury needs Luke! Fresh ideas are long overdue.
Having someone who actually lived in Paraguay and worked with communities will make such a difference on the board. We need that perspective.
LUKE IS THE MAN. Knew him back in the day and he always cared about the community more than anyone else.
He has the experience and the education to get things done. Hes got my vote for sure
