Hi all,

My name is Alexis Rickmers and i've served on the JPNC since October 2021! I am the Parks committee chair and since becoming chair we have hosted multiple parks clean ups, often in partnership with the city and the Emerald Necklace Conservancy. I also coordinate with other local organizations to ensure our neighborhood's green space is taken care of and our neighbors are listened to.

Examples of this: As chair of the parks committee we reached out to the Boston Cycling Union and the Southwest Corridor Group to discuss the paving of the bike path last fall; the committee sent a letter of support and concern to the City after the assault in Franklin Park urging better safety while also urging mindful tactics that do not stigmatize of people who live at the Shattuck; organized a table at Wake Up the Earth and created a neighborhood vision board; and currently the committee is working on getting better biking and walking signage at the Pond; and more! I also have a monthly newsletter and an instagram I update frequently (@jpnc_parks).

Personally, I am a (recent grad!) civil rights lawyer who has lived in JP since 2020, and Boston generally since 2017. I think JP is so special, and I try to be involved as much as I can because I believe that is the best way to become an integrated community member. I enjoy reading (English major!), photographing flowers, and rollerblading.

Thank you for your support! Please leave your name and address (which will not be used for any public mailing lists or any type of dispersement).

I have been spending my weekends walking through our neighborhood parks and listening to what you want to see improved in our green spaces. Your feedback on the bike path and safety in Franklin Park keeps me motivated to continue this work with the committee.

Seeing this level of support for my reelection confirms that our vision for safer and greener neighborhood spaces resonates with so many of you. I am deeply moved by the trust you are placing in my work to keep pushing for better walking and biking access in our community.

YES! She actually listens to the neighborhood. The bike path work was long overdue thanks for pushing for that.
