Hi lovely folks of JP. My name is Jordan, and I’m running for JP Neighborhood Council for an Area A District Seat! I’m a 23 year old recent graduate from Northeastern with my masters in Environmental Science and Policy, and have lived in JP for over 3 years now. I’ve been thinking deeply about ways I can better my neighborhood and community in real, tangible ways-and decided that I wanted to to run for office to represent and support my neighbors and the people around me. I know many people have strong feelings about JPNC, particularly in regards to their impact on zoning and permit-granting for new building projects. Let me tell you now and here that I support all of our neighbors being able to live here-meaning I support well-designed housing developments (especially low-income housing) and will use my abilities to ensure they can be built rather than falling into NIMBYism. At the end of the day, increasing our housing supply and bringing costs down benefits us all. I also want to bring JP together to be in more community (through block parties and neighborhood initiatives). If you live in Area A of JP, shown in the JPNC map link here: JPNC Area Designations
https://maps.app.goo.gl/ykvVfnyGRKXzZ1fGA?g_st=ic), please sign this petition so I can officially be placed on the ballot for the upcoming election!
Finally someone who gets that we need more housing. The rent in JP is getting completely out of hand.
