I love to golf there. I think a mistake to sell this valuable asset. The appraisals seem quite low. The assessor values my extra lot at $32,500 for .6 an acre.

Would like to keep it as a golf course and nature preserve and maybe cross country ski in the winter.

Wonderful course. One of the best in the area. Wetlands, wildlife visible and flourishing every time I play there. Don't let housing profits destroy this wonderful resource.

300 plus acres of beauty. Is the city sure this is the right move? I have serious questions on how it was getting ran. Good people but, it was the "good ole' boys club there". Also when you have young kids and older staff working for you nobody but, TJ would stay late or open early. We would show up at 6 in the summer to have them tell us the carts need to be in by 8 and it doesn't get dark till 945-10? I run businesses for a living. Unfortunately I don't have any insight on running a golf course but, it isn't hard to make people happy and get them to spend money at the same time.

Please keep Elbel as a valuable community resource. Replacing its' EXCELLENT golf course, wetlands, trails, nature preserves with another development would be very shortsighted, and would diminish the overall quality of life of the South Bend community. The SB Chamber of Commerce should be fighting against the proposed sale with intensity!

Don't line the pockets of another developer who only cares about profits. Save our wet lands for recreation and the wild life that live there.

The last thing we need is more housing. This has become a class course don't let the last couples of years efforts to improve it go to WASTE. Save this beautiful area for our children's children to enjoy.

As a member of Elbel Women's league and play there , it would be an absolutely environmentally mistake to sell this beautiful course to a housing developer!!

Keep Elbel as golf course and maintain it as you did to make it a premier public course. Many golfers would volunteer to achieve this goal

Save this place from becoming a potential nightmare that residents of South Bend will never forget. Not only do the people need it, but our wildlife needs it is a Sanctuary of refuge and safety from danger. There have been other parcels of land in the South Bend area and around which have been taken away by building shopping or housing and our wildlife have been left without a home, we are their voice as they can't speak for themselves, we need to speak up and save a place which allows them to roam freely. Please don't take this beautiful place away and turn it into something that it shouldn't be, let it stay as it is for years to come. Thank you !!!

I have golfed at this park since 1966. It was built with an eye for serving north and west side residents who's needs are not being considered! It also serves the needs of many seniors in our community.

Sell this beauty for peanuts and spend a million for an ice rink, come on get real ,who is really going to make out on this deal. The city already started to devalue this asset by neglecting to maintain it properly. That is one of the reasons why it is losing money. Who do they think they are fooling.

South Bend needs every bit of open park space that it can get. As the city and suburbs cement more and more territory, we become more and more separated from the land that sustains us.

We live near Elbel Golf Course, have had a fundraiser for a local high school there, and like to golf there. Besides Blackthorn, Elbel is the best golf course in the region. It sickens me that they would sell such a beautiful place.

So Elbel isn't turning a profit. Name me any park in the system that is running in the black. Maybe the red ink at Elbel has something to do with bad management.
