We need to protect all of our remaining wetlands that support diverse wildlife and protect the water quality of this region. The midwest has lost 30-40+% of biodiversity compared to intact ecosystems in this region. We have reached a point where continued thoughtless development of land is harming our future and contributing to permanent (=forever) loss of species.

Make Elbel a land trust. We can spend thirty million dollars to make Main and Michigan into two way streets, but we can't save a wetland? Where are our priorities?

We need green space in our area and should make every effort to hang on to as much as possible, this day and every day after!

So because of the cities mismanagement of this beautiful parcel of land it should be sold? Short sighted thinking again by the city managers. Thanks for mismanaging our municipal assets.

I hope we can ensure others have the chance to enrich their lives (especially as children) with natural spaces that aren't too far away. I don't want to be the last generation to get to see the peace and excitement of the outdoors!

Why would you even think about it? Don't tell me that the course doesn't earn revenue because it's always busy!

Why not consider selling /leasing to someone who can run & keep it a golf course! How can the city monetarily justify replacing Howard park ice rink while only having 5 or 6 days of skating? Does the city have a guarantee the weather will be better next year or the year after? How about putting the dog park there,it is already fenced in.

We need to make access to Elbel other than just when the golfers are not playing (Nov-March). While golf adds money to city coffers, there needs to be a full year sharing proposal put forth. That would get a lot more interest.

We need to keep sacred the few natural habitats for wildlife in Northern IN. The last thing we need is for it to get turned into another sub division in the future.

This is a beautiful and important area and options should be considered to keep it public before moving to a private sale.

Allowing a developer to purchase this property as has been demonstrated. producing nothing for the surrounding area, depleting the appeal of the area, erodes the landscape, depresses the property values and exposes the corruptions with our officials involving for personal gains and disregard for an established environment.
P.S. buy a farm and screw that up away from the publics eyes.

Save Elbel if goes to private development the golf course will become too expensive for any body to play golf.
