I'm not Muslim, but that only makes me want equality even more. I've been receiving holiday because of my religion since the first year I started school.

Please put us on the academic calendar it is not fair we don't get any days off but everyone else gets every holiday off we need to celebrate our holiday just as everyone else does

We shouldn't have to petition for the opportunity to celebrate on our holiday. This is supposed to be America. Where's the equality? I don't see Christian or Jewish students having to sign petitions!!

It really is unfair especially since I have to "makeup" a Tuesday schedule on Friday because of the days we were off for the Jewish holidays. What about my holidays? Why do I have to go to school on MY holiday? And make up a day on MY holiday? It just isn't fair at all.

So unfair. They promised public schools off but not CUNYS. I just got into college and i was so excited to finally have a day off on Eid, its always a problem when its Muslims who want something. We dont have the same equality as do those who have off on the same week as our holiday.

The fact that Muslim holiday isn't celebrated in this country by Muslims properly due to them having class is sad considering that Islam is the fourth biggest religion in America! It is a joyful holiday where everyone is happy and we visit people around our neighborhood! There is a lot of hate towards Muslim and if we were to have a holiday for Eid it would be beneficial for everybody as it would spread happiness and understanding amongst many people. People of all religion can celebrate with us and it can be a fun experience for all!

It is absolutely heartbreaking that I have to to be in school for labs that day instead of celebrating with my family. But the crazy thing is that I have off today because of the Jewish holiday. We need change!

As a Muslim, I agree that we should be able to have our Eid off. By missing a day of work/ school we stress about all the work that we missed that day. Fortunately, NYC has Eid off and so Inshallah all of us will get to have Eid off(:
