It goes unsaid that this is a required movement, due to the vast number of other faiths that have many more holidays than we do.

I have an exam on Eid al-Adha this year and my phonetics professor chose not to change the date because there are only 4 Muslims in the class out of the 30.

Eid is a beautiful holiday that should be enjoyed among students and their families, without having to worry about how to avoid an "absent" on the attendance sheet. Since there is a large amount of (practicing) Muslim students within the CUNY system, it obviously makes sense to consider this request.

Indeed it is unfair coz Muslims have only 2 holidays but still they are cannot celebrate coz they got to chose between their work/School; and also it is painful!

I believe it's unfair that I have to choose between missing classes or missing a holiday that's a big part of religion. It's unfair to both my family and I. Professors understand but sometimes we still get penalized for missing the class. If this petition goes through, not only will we have a peace of mind for our holiday but will also not have to worry about missing class or important lectures.
