This needs to have attention & focus. We can do better. Fighting for medical help in Ontario isn't right...
@ the Minister: ask someone who has gone through a diagnosis and how well the "system" performed in meeting their needs. The response will be alarming & may in fact help you sign this very petition.

Its disgusting and inhumane to let people suffer when an option is available to assist them. Its worse to say you won't do so because of cost when as a government you've wasted billions and the cost of continued suffering far exceeds that of immediate treatment.

PLEASE HELP THE EDS COMMUNITY
Simply denying that a problem exists is not an effective way of dealing with the problem
We all know this controversy is simply a fight amongst neurosurgeons
It does not need to be one that threatens the lives of Canadian citizens or calls out our province on infringement of the Canada Health Act.
This is an opportunity for this Government to do something constructive

My daughter Rachel who has an M.Sc. in PT from U of T, started with joint issues in her spine and had to give up her work because of on going crippling pain. The Doctors have failed her but she continues to use her PT skills to manage her pain. When will the Minister Dr. Hoskins will understand the pain of hundreds like her & get some experts in treatment of EDS. OHIP is so far back in technology that most Medical Doctors seem to be unaware of EDS. Rachel's MRI clearly showed two of her discs herniated but she cannot seen to get much help from the Medical profession. Dr. Hoskins please understand the suffering of so many folks who are young & unable to lead a normal life let alone work even with high qualifications. It is unbearable for us, her parents to see her in constant pain each day for the past 2 years.

We pay our taxes so people in need get what they need. This health care system seems like a scam when people in pain, or need have to wait months, years, and sometimes never for a surgery. It is the only thing that upsets me about Ontario.

Something needs to be done! This country has no resources for people suffering with this horrible disease. We shouldn't have to leave our 'great' country for help :(

In this day and age, lack of money for medical treatment should not be the deciding factor in who gets to feel well or not!

No one should have to suffer when there is available treatment.
Our elected government has a duty to help these individuals.

It is absolutely a shame. The government has to help if possible and it is possible. Stop wasting money and help Canadians who need it.

It is urgent that you reconsider and act as quickly as possible to assist the EDS patients. Ontario can do a lot better to help them.
