There are already many people that are unable to afford education, adding vat will only increase that number.

Education is the key to success and a solution to many of the problems we face today as a state. It's already hard to obtain why make it even harder. Let's have a VAT free education.

I think it's unfair for hard working parents to be over paying for their kids just to have an education think about all those parents that can barely make ends meet just so their kids have an education some parents use their entire salary just to get there kids through,,no more vat education should be free

Education is a public good. Every citizen, every boy, every girl, has a fundamental human right to nursery, primary, secondary school education. Guyana has come a long way and between 1992 and 2015, Guyana achieved a 100% universal coverage for primary, and secondary education. Guyana has one of the highest nursery school access in the Caribbean. Higher education is a developmental imperative and so investment in making higher education, including professional training, is not an option for government but an imperative, an obligation. VAT adds to the unaffordability of education. It is a regressive step and must stop. GUyana unite to stop VAT on education
