This imposition will create a downturn in tertiary education in our country. We will remain a third world economy because foreigners with higher levels of education will come to manage our organizations simply because we cannot afford to pay to acquire a proper education because of the additional burden placed on an already strained budget

Parents already paid income tax on their wages - why an additional burden? Will th GRA bring back tax exemptions for having children that are dependent on you????

It is against the fundamental principles of a VAT regime to tax essential services, including education and health. This tax should be removed immediately, for Guyanese private educational schools.

We need schools like the School of Nations! There is a lot to be learned (if they are already not doing so) from private school - instead of the 14% VAT, why not look to this and other private schools as a haven for teacher training?
