I dropped out of the University of Guyana because of family and financial circumstances. The ABE program give me hope for a better future out of poverty. The fees were high to me then because I worked for so little and taxing it would would definitely cause many students who share my past struggles to accomplish anything. Please do not take away struggling young peoples hope by taxing private education.

VAT on school fees is absurd . Every parent wants the best education for their children ,the best environment and somewhere for their children to be safe. Private schools provide this and more . In the government schools they don't have enough teachers for all subject and many times the children are left on their own . Parents have to go and pay for extra lesson just to get the child to do well. Every Parent no matter how poor they are they try their best to send their children to private school WHY because they know that is where they will grow up and have a good education and moral values. Too much lawlessness goes on in the government schools and washroom facilities sucks. Government schools have inexperience teachers too many young teachers with not much moral values.

I am totally against the 14% Vat on education imposed by the government. If our vision is to create a more educated nation then this is surely not the way in achieving it.

I Disagree with 14% Vat on Education. People all over the world are lobbing for education and here we want to charge a poor nation for it?? No way!!

Instead of placing VAT on education, why not revise the amount of hours and books a child is required to utilise during their youthful days. Taxing education will not produce smarter children since they are the end bearers of the ripple effect you, the government, are placing on the parents.
