I am a parent of a two children in JCPS. Students need some type of normancy back in their lives with so many other things being cancalled. Still offer virtual/ remote learning to the parents who want that for the children. But not all kids, students, and parents want to start out the school year or continue their education with remote/ virtual learning. Every child/ student does not learn the same way. Every child/ student come from a different background and do not have the same help, supplies, and such at home to do school work like they would if they were in a classroom with teachers and the right supplies & materials needed to do their work. So please consider that when you make the decision. Schools are trying to get prepared for the opening of the school buidling with staff and students if they are able to return. So lets open our schools up in a safe and social distance way the best way we can for the students and staff.

Open schools for face to face learning. My highest praise goes to these teachers that want to go ahead and open schools for face to face teaching and learning. If there has to be extra measures taken to keep the schools clean and sanitized, then by all means do it. That is what the school board should be concerned about anyway not just now, but always. Put some of the allotted school money where it really needs to be. For the teachers that are commenting that they Do Not want to open schools back up....well Take Away their pay and let them stay home. Hire the teachers that DO want to work and are truly concerned about the children’s educations. Once you take away their income you will see that they are not that scared after all, they just want an extended paid vacation. Teachers that do not want to teach in the classroom and Politics do not belong in the school system. Take away the pay of the teachers that don’t want to work and for the ones that Do want to work and educate the children Give them a Pay Raise. I’m sorry but these teachers crying wolf and acting like they are scared to start back because they are scared they will get sick....They don’t seem to be that scared when you see them out and about at the grocery store or Walmart. What happened to the Concern for the children that depend on the school environment not only for their education but for their food and well being. Where is that Concern Now......hidden behind the politics?

From the parent of an AU student, face to face learning is the only way! “Remote learning” Did not benefit her in any way.

Kids need structure and face to face learning opportunities. Think about single parent homes and the struggle those parents would face if forced into online instruction. Think about 2 parent homes where both parents work and have no options for time off or childcare. Forget about the news and politics for a minute and think about your children and their future. Parents need options!

kid's need to be in school and politics need to be kept out of the schools that is what has ruined our education system by letting politics back into the classroom, bring prayer, the pledge of allegiance and other things back that have been taken away

My daughter needs face to face time at school. This is getting ridiculous! Political antics have no place in an elementary school. These kids are going to be extremely behind if we keep this up. 5-10 year olds aren’t capable of sitting in front of a computer and learning new things from their parents who are having to learn everything as they do.

The online instruction this year was a disaster. Continuing the madness with no choice will only hurt our children.
