It is too early.... They really don't need it now... From morning to evening they are sitting with that... It hurts their eyes and head

I do not completely agree with this petition. My daughter is a 4th grader in edison school. I do see that she gets paper writings as her homework along with chromebook homework which makes a complete balance in learning. When you say that kids already spend a lot of time on phones and other screens why not limit that first rather than something which is educational. Thidly, books are still a part of curriculum but theose stay at school and those are also available online for parents referal. Finally, i really did not quiet understand your concern about social studdies taught as a part of english. But from what i understand, i do not see any harm in that. Weather you learn about apple in english or art class it does not change the facts of the subject itself. But limiting the use if chromebook in schools is still not a bad idea but for that we need to be sure how many hours out of total school hours are they spending on chromebook?? I doubt if they are spending more than 2 hours. So I might not sign it.

maybe teach them how to be good people and not robots that stare at screens all day and night.

I completely agree to limit usage of chrome books. Kids in elementary school should still be writing in notebooks rather than typing on computers. They are still learning on improving their hand writing and if they are exposed to computers, they will soon forget to hand write. Also, they are watching videos for instructions, and not reading which is another bottleneck for their reading and understanding concepts Hope board of education will look into this matter and do the needful Thanks

agree with most except #2. Electronic devices are not the baby sitter nor only way to educate learners. Read, discuss and talk to your own children and students.

Being tech savvy is a way to future agree but it is taking the learning away and more over putting a lot of stress on their eyes

Please stop usage of chrome books. Kids are losing all they have learnt earlier.. Spell check n Grammer correction is not to bexceed a click. They have to learn them. Heard kids hAve started to learn how to cheat on examination while using Chrome books.

While this may be the way of the future we need to start this slowly to see the implications it will have on our children ,has anyone looked at a coralation between over stimulation of the young developing brain ,

What about cursive writing - that too removed from 4th Grade program. Stopped separate Spelling marking in report card. Kids are doing spell check in chrome-book.
