Agree! If videos n Google were the answers to elementary school teaching, it defeats the purpose of teachers n the school setting. Kids learn with interaction and this level of usage of computers is disrupting. Also how many precious years are passing by with this experimentations with syllabus n technology. Our kids r not guinea pigs . Stop it as soon as possible!

It's sad that young students are already learning to use Google for answers instead of learning the material. We're essentially breeding a generation of idiots. (I don't mean it in a disrespectful way. I am just saying that if they can't think for themselves and learn anything without a computer, how can they possibly make real life decision?) When they're older, they're going to be asking the computer what car to purchase and how many children to have because they never learned how to think. They learned how to type into google. It's a scary future.

I appreciate the chromebooks for third graders but am afraid that it is too soon as they have just learned how to read and write and they may loose habit of writing and reading traditional way. As we strive to limit the screen time for our kids , mandatory screen time seems a little overwhelming

I strongly agree with all the issues listed in this petition. Technology is becoming a major concern. I want my kid to learn how to read and write, be creative and to be able to think free. This very approach of making them so much dependent on tablets is wrong. At this age, kids should learn through natural ways of learning and learning should enhance their capabilities.

Hate my kid trying to understand everything using tenmarks. .also hate that social studies and civic is no more a separate subject. .why..is it because we have become so evolved and understand our civic duties. .given the way our society is shaping up (low on morale. .duties..responsibilities)....I think teachingsocial studies as a separate subject is very important..
