Edison Schools : Limit use of Chromebooks

This petition is echoing my sentiments. I am worried about excessive amount of chrome book usage that is leading to way too much technology dependency. Most importantly, impact it will have on their health - especially the eyes. Technology is good but excessive of everything is bad.

It's a crime and irresponsible to force kids so young to be before the computer screens all day which could cause serious health issues. I am all in for this petition.

old school method is the best method

Kids are spending more n more time on chrome books to do assignments, homework, reading, etc. The concept of physical books and the work behind getting the answer seems to be non-existent. We don't know what kids are learning at school since everything is online and kids are exposed to too many websites. I think it's too early for them to get hooked on to the chromebooks. Please bring back the physical textbooks so they can be disconnected from the gadgets.

I agree no need of chrome book at home.

It's better for their eyesight & motor skills, if chrome book time is reduced. Students donetimes get lower grades due to poor typing skills, which is not needed at this age.

I think elementary kids should not be exposed to technology this much.

I totally agree..... Kids are getting exposed to too much of technology which is really not necessary for them at such an early age.

Kid's should have some exposure to tech but not as much that they are forgetting how to hold a pen and pencil. School without paper and pencil is like a technical institute.

I agree to all the above points and that's because when my kids are back home they are so tired and complains that their head is hurting or eyes are paining.....

I agree...kids at this age need to use there own imagination and creativity not technology!! If at this Mr Gates and Mr Job had these sort devices for learning they wouldn't have been able to create or invent anything!!

I strongly support this. Treat kids as human, not as commodities for future tech use!

I am so glad to sign this petition as I firmly believe that elementary kids are very young to be on chrome books for extended periods of time. In addition no textbooks have made it extremely hard for us parents to understand how kids are being taught in school. Online videos is no way acceptable form of teaching children in school when they have competent teachers. This new system of education is detrimental to our kids health and we need to speak up and show our concerns to the Edison board.

Chrome book usage in school needs to be limited and we don't want chrome book home.

Introduce Chrome books at high school level not at middle school and elementary level

My daughter has been squinting more and had increased eye power within 6 months. Its very straneous for kids' retina.
