I would also like to add on about tablets/ipad given to kids un kindergarteners followed by chromebooks to second grade.I completely agree with the petition and wouls like to go back to the pencil and paper format without gadgets.

I trully agree with this. And my both sons have eyeglasses. Their doctor says ,there should not be screentime exceeding two hours .Now how to minimize it to two hours at least.. And kids dont count chromebook as screentime . They need to watch their fav cartoon movie as well... I think instead of saving papers school authorities should worry to save their eyesight ...

Please let the kids grow with physical books, pen, pencil and paper instead of technology which is having ill effect on their health as well as their writing and learning skills .

Yes i agree atleast kids from elementary should not be exposed to technology so much . Using only chromebook all the time will affect them in many ways

I agree.Even though it may be the way of today,the exposure to screens is already known to have huge impacts on eyes and mind.I agree that tgere will be a huge loss of handwriting skills and fine motor abilities with uses of pen and pencil.Also,we are grateful to have our kids accessible to technology but it is pulling away from teacher student relationships where google is friend and guide.Teaching at home is less effective as well as others have pointed out.We may consider technology as a benefit and gain,but abusing it is wrong.

Completely agree. The research hasn't found yet the benefit to kids of using technology to this extent. There are a lot of distractions that come with technology. Schools should be mindful of that.

Main concerns- Too much of technology for small kids, parents need to know what material they are thought ...no text books makes no sense . HW a must for kids otherwise they will never learn to work hard after school in higher grades and beyond

Kids young as 2nd grade do not need chromebook. It's a health hazard for kids to have such heavy backpack, it's not good for there back. Kids are loosing there writing skill. I think chromebook is totally unnecessary till 5th grade. This generation kids have enough of exposure to technology at home let them be kids and not robots.

It's a shame how kids are being taught in Edison schools. Kids play games on computers using homework as a pretext. I have no visibility into what he is learning at school. I was surprised when the class teacher asked me not to buy any books.!!!
