Edison Schools : Limit use of Chromebooks

I want my kids to use pen and paper.

Kids need to know how write.

This way of teaching is totally absurd and too early for kids.

I am really concerned about not having any textbooks to teach from. What is the curriculum they are following? These kids are losing their penmanship!!!!! They are exposed to technology too early!!!

It's outrageous how handwriting and typing skills are down the drain. Giving Elementary children starting from 2nd grade no basics of typing skills or spelling.... And throw a computer at them?? It truly backwards and not developmently appropriate.

I am joining this petition.My son is only in Grade 1 and he will be getting IPad in school.I think these kids should write more to have a good handwriting, get spelling corrected rather than auto correct by the iPad.

I totally agree kids are spending way too much time in computers.

I too agree that it's too early to introduce chrome book in early elementary school. First they should learn reading from a textbook and writing in a paper. For story writing, they are using Chrome book, for grammar and even Math too. Countries like China and India have textbooks for each an every subjects, US also should follow a better system of education and limit the use of chromebooks.

Chrome book based education system must change ASAP!

More writing, less typing.

Using notebooks all the time impact on their eyes. They will forget to write and reading books also.

Kids r spending too much time in front of the computer. This may cause lot of health problems in the near future.

I do agree with all the above facts that it's too early for the kids to read and write on chrome book or iPad. Please let them learn how to read in a paper book and write on a paper Or else there is a great danger of people forgetting how to write with a pencil and pen on a paper.

Paper text books should not be eliminated. On one hand , we stress on reading and other we are saying no to paper books. For Math, kids still need paper to do rough calculation , then just mark answers on chrome book. The only good I see is for teachers task becoming easier , that's all. With strain on eyes and much dependency on Internet, surely not doing good. Not to say that I saw one kid with back pain because of carrying chrome book to school everyday!

Limit some use to give more writing practice

I do agree that kids should have text books , writing more than iPads n chrome books. This will be good for their physical health too .

I agree with others. They are too young for chromebook.

I don't want the kids should use come book or iPad in school. they should learn more from books, they should write, they should know how to talk, play, mix with people. I am against cRome book or any kind of Internet things in school. with out Internet they can also become a good and responsibil citizens. thank you.
