The Economic Equality Charter and the campaign around it seeks to address the dismantling of Apartheid era corporate monopolies and cartels, establish economic equality, expose corporate collusion & corruption, fast track BBEEE, demand employment equity, address unemployment, and fight for worker’s rights and working conditions. Many companies are unwilling to transform and change their racially biased behavior and this is evidenced by how many companies perform poorly when it comes to BBEEE targets, employment equity targets and by the amount of corporate collusion to keep black business out of entire industries and sectors and side-line them so that they don’t grow beyond a certain size. Corporate greed, collusion, black business exclusion, corruption, an unwillingness to transform the economy and the failed implementation of policies such as BBEEE and land reform are all symptoms of a deeper problem in our society, namely institutionalised racially based economic discrimination. This petition calls on South Africa's Corporates to sign up to the Economic Equality Charter and fast track transformation through preferential procurement and other more radical means before it becomes too late to hold back the anger of the South African people and we descend into more social unrest and chaos.

The corporate elites are finally feeling the heat as this surge of support shows they can no longer ignore our demand for radical economic change. These monopolies are desperate to keep their exclusionary grip on our wealth but this momentum proves their days of running the show are numbered.

Enough is enough. These big companies act like they own the country and keep us locked out of the economy. Time for real change.

They just want to keep the profit for themselves and block everyone else. Sick of the corruption and the excuses!

We need real transformation now. It is 2017 and it still feels like the old days in the boardroom. DO BETTER.
