During class on 4/29/2014, the students were given 2 choices for our final exam.

Option 1. Predominantly multiple choice and true and false, with a smaller portion of the questions being free response. This is the same format as our practice final which is posted online.

Option 2. All free response which would be more similar to our 2 midterm exams.

The class voted for Option 2 in the class poll, but it seems many have since realized they would prefer Option 1 along with many others who weren't present for the in class poll feeling strongly for Option 1. Therefore, we would like to request that Professor Xu allow us to change our final exam format to Option 1.

Please sign this petition if you would like to have our test format changed to Option 1.

I am honestly a little overwhelmed by how many of you stepped up to make your preferences known. This momentum belongs entirely to the class because you were the ones who kept the conversation going. I am just grateful to be part of such a unified group.

The multiple choice format is way fairer given how much material we have to cover. Hope he listens to us.

The practice final was actually helpful so let us use that format. Nobody wants all free response for the final.
