Madison is moving forward with planning for a Public Market. We want to petition the Mayor, Madison Food Council and Common Council to locate the first Public Market on Madison's Eastside. We believe an Eastside Public Market will: *add a key element to the local food infrastructure in our neighborhoods; *create opportunities for local food entrepreneurs to create new Eastside businesses, and; *provide a successful model that can be replicated in other parts of the City. We believe the Eastside is the best location for the first Public Market because we offer: *several potential high profile sites ready for in-fill development; *a dedicated and motivated customer base for local food businesses, and; *a diverse community of local food entrepreneurs looking for a venue. Madison needs Public Markets and the Eastside is the best place to start!
