Northeastern Longmont is too populous for just one grocer! There are even more housing developments being built which will add to the crowded parking, low inventory, and crowded aisles of the one grocery store in our area.

I understand that Safeway owns the building and does not want a grocery store there would take away some business from the 2 existing Safeways here in Longmont.

It seems Safeway holds the cards and money on this decision. It seems to be locked and nothing can be done. This is the year of focus on small business development and support, and that big empty building does not entice shoppers for the smaller, adjacent businesses. It is a shame that this has happened, and I would like to see that change.
Need some competition for KS across the street.
