This post shop is the closest to me and the only one in Gisborne open before I start work at 8.30am on weekdays. It is therefore, by a considerable margin, the most convenient option for me and my family. Closing this store would be a blinkered and short‑sighted decision.

I live near Easts Makaraka and I run my small business from home so it is extremely helpful having postal so close, Makaraka is a very busy area with a lot of locals utilizing all the shops and services in the area, with rising fuel prices it is an added cost to make the extra trip to the next closest post shop when we shouldn't have too, The postal service needs to stay! Simple as that.

The staff here give exceptional service which you dont get elsewhere. If they are closed it msans driving right into town and spending ages finding a park or a long walk which is not good for disabled of older people.
