They actually backed down and kept the E6 schedule exactly how it was which honestly still feels a bit surreal after all the back and forth. I am just so glad my neighbors and the folks at the retirement center do not have to worry about losing their ride home …

Docket #B13-02: Proposed Metrobus Service & Tariff Changes; September 16-19, 2013

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) should retain the current frequency and span of service between Friendship Heights to Knollwood Retirement Center. This E6 route has served the Chevy Chase DC & MD area and beyond for decades. Hundreds of residents use the Chevy Chase line every day. The E6 ridership has increased by approximately 25% since 2008. For many in the Chevy Chase area, and beyond, the E6 route is a vital transportation link. Seniors, DC students, and daily commuters all depend on reliable and frequent E6 bus service. The undersigned citizens who depend on the public transportation services provided by WMATA for their mobility, are writing to ask you to support our efforts to retain the existing frequency and span of service of this important route and to vigorously oppose Metro's plan to reduce the frequency and span of service for the E6 bus.

I really did not think this would take off like it has when I first started typing this out in a panic late at night. It feels like everyone is finally noticing how much we rely on the E6 and honestly just seeing all the support coming in is pretty overwhelming in the best way possible.

Ridiculous proposal. Ridership is up and they want to cut service?? WMATA keeps finding new ways to fail us.

Stop messing with routes that actually work. People count on these buses to get home in one piece.

My kids use this line for school and I rely on it for my appointments. It is already crowded enough as it is.

This bus is my only way to get to the grocery store. Dont make it harder for the seniors in the area.

I ride this every day for work. If the buses come less often I am going to be late constantly. Fix this.
