with the government shutting down more and more tracks across the country, its only going to make more people do the wrong thing and drive in illegal areas

Access should be maintained because Derrs surf spot is used by so many, as there are limited locations available for this popular recreational sport.

I'm sure you lament about crime at home in our suburbs and yet you would happily prevent honest healthy recreation in our beaches, forests and bush lands. Your lockouts are creating lockins responsible for many social problems.

I am suffering from breast cancer and have secondary cancer in my femur bones. I have difficulty walking. I enjoy the beach but cannot negotiate sand dunes and even concrete walk paths that are more than 10 metres long. I appreciate being able to drive my vehicle onto the beach to enjoy the sea breezes a little paddling and to watch my dog and family enjoying the waves. We also enjoy beach fishing which is past my ability at the moment, but I enjoy watching the family in their pursuit of the one that got away, I enjoy watching the sun set over the ocean. It is a shame that the council cannot see the big picture. Most people who enjoy this type of activity are very driver aware and do the right thing. Yes things can be done to reduce the risk, i.e. perhaps a little more signage to indicate one way etc. Surely there should be discussion with the recreational drivers/beach goers first before permanent road closures are put in place.

Open the tracks. There are some d&$k heads in the 4x4 community, however most of us a care for the environment and like to enjoy the outdoors with family and friends. Don't let the minority ruin it for all of us!

The reasons for this closure are outrageous. I want to be to experience the true beauty of Australia without having to drive ks out of the city. The effect this will have on the two rocks community only further outlines how selfish and money hungry the council is. The best thing about two rocks is the community spirit. Take this away from them and what do you leave them with? My faith in the local council is gone. Thanks for being buzz kills...
