The development project adjacent to the York St. station should have been contingent on these improvements to the subway exits.

It really is time for second entry. The station should be ADA compliant and safer on entry and exit in general.

This is a no brainier from a safety perspective. Needs to be considered.

Please seriously consider this new design. The York Street station should be a serious safety concern for the MTA, not to mention its complete lack of accessibility. It is a disaster waiting to happen.

Current situation is more than an annoyance. It’s a disaster waiting to happen. Any emergency will likely end very, very poorly due to the single choke point exit.

Our neighborhood is not equipped to deal with the tourism, residents and commuters in and out all weekday and weekends. It is incredibly dangerous and we need this second entrance.

Please help to fix the subway station ASAP. Do you need volunteers to get signatures outside of the York Street?

I’m a long time dumbo resident (since 2002) I have a new baby and I’m not comfortable bringing a stroller down all the stairs to the York Street Station. It just seems like an accident waiting to happen...also having one entrance is super dangerous. Nowadays because of crowding, in the past because of muggings.
Please can we get a safe, accessible entrance?!

As has been noted this station is already far beyond its capacity at rush hours. It’s frightening when multiple trains unload. It’s unforgivable that the developers building on top of this station weren’t required to provide for this but be that as it may, this is an excellent plan and should be taken up by the MTA and the city with immediate action

I heartily support the proposal for a second entrance /exit at the York station for safety concerns and for ease of access. The elevator idea is fantastic to enable subway access for the elderly, disabled, and people with mobility issues. It will also enable subway access for parents with buggies and young children. Thanks for your efforts to propose this.

This second entrance is SO needed, as the liability & end-result in an emergency situation will be unbearable. Please make this happen ASAP.

We who have lived in Vinegar Hill for many decades have mentioned that this station has reached a dangerous capacity of users to our elected officials. With the one exit only we can expect any type of catastrophic scenario. Something must be done ASAP. 85 Front Street when constructed will double the number of straphangers and create a crisis.
