Parents of students who attend Fremont County School District #2 request the Board call an emergency meeting to vote to make the wearing of masks in our School optional. We believe the Board should exercise their local authority and not waste time seeking a variance from the State Department of Health, just simply make a decision that is best for our students. The parents in this District elected our Board of Trustees, we did not elect the State Department of Health officials who arbitrarily make decisions based on statistics that do not apply to our small, isolated District. We know that students are a low risk category for COVID-19. Give our kids a few weeks of breathing normally.

The scale of this response is sufficient to move our request directly to the Board of Trustees. I have secured a formal meeting time with the district clerk to present these signatures and demand a vote on the mask policy.

Please take actions now, we don't need "permission" to do what's in the best interest of our students, let them breath normally! You have the authority to act on this, you just need to do it!
I have Grandchildren that go to Fremont School dist. #2 The masks need to go!! They do more harm than good!! I'm also a taxpayer , please stop making the children and staff wear masks!!
Non medical masks do absolutely nothing except harm the individual. Social & health reasons abound for NOT wearing them. Many don't regardless—including staff—so what’s the point in keeping a mandate? Not to mention Dubois is remote, children are healthier & happier w/o, and you don’t have a Native student body (that may/may not be more susceptible to colds & flus)
The only people who have power over us are those we elect. A state health official is not elected by the people therefore should have no power over those we elect to represent us.
I think if you were still Chairman it wouldn’t be an issue! It’s as if the Board has forgot that we ELECT them and that they have control over our District! Listen to the community!
Let’s get our town back to normal, so we can start living again

I believe that people need to breath in and out, and that masks place as many germs to the face to inhale as they may keep out. Students communicate better without their faces hidden.
