If India wants to be a world leader, they have to act like one. Most of the G-7 nations recognize dual-citizenship. India should and must respect their diaspora's.
Waiting to see this happen pretty soon and not have to wait 10-20 yrs. Welcoming back indians living abroad only helps make india progress and bring the brain drain back.
As an OCi I have as much good intentions and responsibility for India's growth as my fellow Indians in India. Please give us the passports back and let us vote for Modiji.
Dual citizenship should be atleast granted to the children born in US to Indian parents as these children will be returning to India with their parents but will not have Indian citizenship.
Indian government should know that for the growth of India and emotional connection to india of NRIs, dual citizenship is must. some pio or oci card just don't cut it

I am suprised none of the Indian Diaspora bought this up during Mr Narendra Modis Visit. As a physician living in India there are real practical issues on the ground for not having Dual Citizenship. In terms of education and working in the Government there are many restriction. My children hold India passport but if they take an American citizenship they will have difficulty getting to schools and universities,despite being born and living in India they will be considered as NRI's.
