I saddens me as a straight white middle age dad that my child is growing up in a world where they are targeted every day by hate and redhat sh'tbags.

I support Drag Storytime in Cook County even if it IS funded with my tax dollars. Which this is not.

Why this even has to be a petition is a sad thing. If you don’t want to hear a story from a drag queen, don’t listen.

As a librarian and a former Grand Marais resident and a frequent visitor, I want to support Drag Queen Story hours everywhere and especially the GM Library.

As a children's librarian and a parent I am delighted to support Drag Queen story hour and Cook County Pride. In libraries and education, we talk about how every child needs to see positive representation of themself and their life in books and in their community, and we mean EVERY child. Whether a few people "approve" or not, this community includes LGBTQ+ children, children with LGBTQ+ parents and loved ones, boys who enjoy dresses and makeup, girls who like snowmobiling and football, and everything in between and beyond. They ALL deserve to be seen and loved, and read to by a delightful performer in a beautiful costume!
