I don’t understand what’s so hard about if you don’t want to hear drag story hour, then don’t listen. Not much different than going to the grocery store and walking past the food you don’t eat! ❤️

So silly to exclude entertainment acts based on cultural fear mongering. Cmon, let the drag queens tell stories!! Its for entertainment and expression!!

Drag Queen Story Hour celebrates LGBTQIA+ culture and lives. The LGBTQIA+ community deserves to experience relevant role models and opportunities to have their lives, stories, identities, and values represented in positive, affirming ways. LGBTQIA+ people exist. It is not dangerous to expose children to the performance arts or age-appropriate, content-appropriate literature. The LGBTQIA+ community contributes to the well-being of Cook County in myriad ways, including paying taxes.

If you let a convicted pedophile run for mayor, you can let a drag queen read a book

Representation matters! Our youth deserve to feel accepted and like they belong, whether they are straight or part of the LGBTQ+ community! I attended the last Drag Queen Story Hour in Grand Marais and loved the message that shone through; We all belong!

I believe this to be extremely important, not only for children, but for adults, in educating us all in appreciating our differences, and all of our similarities !!!!

Yes. We support drag here in Grand Marais. Drag is art and belongs as a sacred part of the LGBTQ+ community anyone who tries to take that away from us will fail.

Drag is no different than any other theater or performance art and has a place in Grand Marais.
