Draft Adam Putnam for Governor!

We, the undersigned, do hereby implore Congressman Adam Putnam to seek the Republican Party’s nomination for Governor of Florida in 2010. On May 12, 2009, Governor Charlie Crist announced he would not seek reelection in 2010. We assert that there are, thus far, no candidates that have filed for the office who are sufficiently qualified and capable to be the next Chief Executive of the State of Florida. Furthermore, we acknowledge that Adam Putnam has committed 13 years of service to his constituents and his state, maintaining a solid record of bipartisan inclusion, common-sense governance, and demonstrating his ability to work with both sides of the aisle. We recognize the lack of leadership and direction in the Republican Party, particularly in Florida. The time has come to elect a leader that will not bend to partisan pressure; one who understands that a governor cannot concurrently play “party games” and provide careful leadership. We cannot afford to wait. We recognize the need for fresh and energetic leadership for the Republican Party and the State of Florida, and we believe Adam Putnam can provide that leadership.
