I honestly still feel like I might be dreaming but the school finally gave in and Dr. Ingenito is staying right where she belongs. My brain is spinning with how quickly all of this turned around once we actually pressed them on it so stay tuned because I want to …

It has been brought to our attention that Dr. Ingenito did not receive tenure this year. This means that she can no longer be faculty at NYIT. This is obviously a large loss to the PT department. We all know what Dr. Ingenito teaches is so important to the NPTE boards and our careers as PTs. To have fellow NYIT peers at a disadvantage regarding all the material that she teaches is just unacceptable. The program will truly experience a hard time finding someone to replace her who will only be slightly comparable to Dr. Ingenito in the event that she does not stay in the NYIT family.

Seeing the momentum pick up like this is honestly wild because I really just started this out of pure frustration one night while staring at my textbooks. It is deeply validating to know so many of you feel exactly the same way about what we are losing if Dr. Ingenito goes. I honestly did not expect this to get so much traction but I am so incredibly grateful that people actually care as much as I do.

This is of deep concern to me as Dr. Ingenito represents everything that is so special to NYIT's DPT program. Outside of being a teacher who has the best interest of her students in mind at all times, she demonstrates values you simply cannot teach on a daily basis. Dr. Ingenito is highly involved in the NYIT community through fund raisers, the Health Academy at NYIT, symposium presentations, multiple research studies every year, etc. Dr. Ingenito is someone that I look up to as a Physical Therapist and health professional. She is the kind of Professor that every university should be fighting over to hire and keep.

Dr. Ingenito not only helped me during my years in PT school but she also helped me in my job search after graduating, she goes above and beyond for her students.

It would truly be a loss to the NYIT DPT family if we were to lose Dr. Ingenito as a professor. Her knowledge and expertise in acute care and cardiopulmonary PT (just to name a few) are invaluable and I would be devastated not to get the chance to learn from such a great teacher. Although I have not gotten the chance to have Dr. Ingenito as my formal teacher, she has always gone out of her way to assist in my other classes.

Dr. Ingenito is such an incredible professor who cares so much for her students. She is patient, understanding and really takes her time to teach and make sure her students truly gets the material. She was always available 24/7 and responsive to questions any of her students had. This program has benefited so much from Dr. Ingenito and it would be a shame to let her go!

Dr. Ingenito is a highly respectable professor who is very knowledgeable in her field and teaches clinically useful information. She teaches Cardio-Pulmonary, a very stressful, high content class in a way that allows us to absorb the information as easy as possible, as well as a handful of other important high content courses. Dr. Ingenito gives us information that is not only useful to pass the boards, but that will help us exceed in each of our chosen areas of practice. She is a huge asset to the DPT program at NYIT, and plays an important role as a staff member and professor.

I feel she will definitely help students to increase confidence about those important topics (cardiopulmonary, pharmology, taping, alternative manual techniques for ribs) with not only her knowledge but also her personality. She truly plays an important role in the DPT department.

Dr. Ingenito plays a crucial role in shaping the lives of PT students by not just providing useful and vital information for topics/courses, but by instilling confidence and strength within students to fully strive. She is approachable, knowledgeable, and very experienced in the field of cardiopulmonary. She is respected by her students and the other staff for ability to teach topics with high content level to students and still make sure students succeed. She is a very organized, funny, and creative teacher. She is not just a great asset to the NYIT's DPT program; however an asset for the physical therapy profession as a whole.
