The train cars are finally gone from the overpass and our town looks like itself again. I am truly stunned that this worked but it only happened because you all refused to look away. Please keep an eye on the tracks so we can make sure they stay clear for …
I am calling on the Long Island Railroad to remove the unsightly freight train cars that are often stored on the Deer Park Avenue overpass. The train cars, stored by New York & Atlantic Railway under an agreement with the LIRR, are covered with graffitti and highly visible from Deer Park Avenue.
The storage of these vehicles in the heart of Deer Park's downtown is simply not acceptable. The trains must be permanently removed.
I really started this just to vent about how those cars look in our town and I am stunned that so many of you feel the exact same way. It is clear this is a real problem for the neighborhood because I keep hearing from neighbors about how long this has been bothering them. None of this momentum would be here without you all stepping up to say enough is enough.

it looks like a total dump right in the middle of town. seriously ruins the curb appeal for everyone living nearby.

get them out of here. we pay enough in taxes without having to stare at garbage graffiti trains every day.
