Spencer isn't exactly a desirable town to live in to begin with, banning events around the courthouse because of a few curmudgeons is only going to accelerate this towns decline.

The court house square is for all the people. Not just a few ..... All Of The People. Shouldn't even be an issue.

I am so in support of Spencer Pride and all they do for wonderful county. I support them they are great ambassadors all over for Owen county and we are so proud of them and how they reach out with love for everyone. I support all festivals on the square in downtown Spencer. The people who have taken their money and made downtown Spencer a place we can all love is so generous of them, and we deeply appreciate them being here for all of us. Please make sure all our festivals stay downtown and the hate stop from a few people as I know they think they mean well, but the hate does not feel like it...

The Spencer Pride festival’s importance reaches far beyond just the town of Spencer. It is a beacon of hope and acceptance for many living in rural, small-town communities across the state, and even nationally. Losing it would be such a giant step back, and send a devastating message to so many rural and small-town queer individuals. Not to mention potentially damaging all the amazing work Spencer has done to revitalize the downtown and make it a welcoming space for all.

I am a proud supporter of all events in our downtown. I am appalled at the recent and ongoing efforts by a small group of people who are discriminating against the LGBTQ+ community with a movement of blatant bigotry and lies regarding our event this June.

I feel that Spencer has a very strong downtown community. Having the festivals that celebrate different events is important to our community. I think all the festivals events should be held at the courthouse.
