Downtown Festival, Johnson City

With all the changes they are doing they need to change the name also because this is certainly not the Blue Plum Festival

The blue plum belongs downtown. There is absolutely no reason to move the entire festival just so that yee haw brewery does not have to move it's beer very far. Furthermore, the park cannot contain the amount of people the festival brings.

Lets have a street festival! Support local business in our booming downtown.

I'm confused about the move. It seems to have been intended as a way to answer some complaints by merchants that people walked by their places because so much was going on downtown. Looks like there's a split in the downtown business owners. I endorse the street festival myself, because it felt inclusive and festive, while the sideshow in the park looked restricted and isolated and not much fun. I think there must be a better way to use the new resources (park and pavilion) while keeping the open festival centered in downtown.

I think keeping it free and local supports the very businesses that keeps downtown Alive

Browsing the downtown streets during the festival and popping in and out of shops and eateries is one of the most fun parts about downtown festivals. I enjoy the music, but you can still hear it.

I loved it being spread out downtown! Why dont the put the paid event at Founders Park and keep the free stuff downtown. Honestly thats when i have checked out business downtown. Other wise, i wouldnt park and walk!

Having the founders park events last year did decrease the foot traffic downtown. Many vendors and business owners alike saw a dramatic decrease in sales because people paid $50+ to go to the park to eat and drink "free" making them not want to spend time or money elsewhere. I say have more children friendly activities and put those along with certain other vendors/events in the park and leave the drinking and craziness we all crave where it has always been.

Don't change what is good! Downtown is part of the allure during Blue Plum! It also helps local businesses!

Please don't move it. Part of the charm of the festival is its downtown location. People also get exposure to merchants they might not otherwise
