Downtown Festival, Johnson City

I've been going since the very first Blue Plum! If you want to help the festival. I don't think this is the right way to do it.

Support our businesses!!! We're still babies!!!

I agree with including Founders Park in the festival but not moving it there. Also, Founders Park is still in downtown Johnson City. So, no one is moving the festival from downtown. But this move will hurt certain businesses on Main, Buffalo, and W Market. This festival costs money however-somewhere to the tune of $80,000. Where does this money come from? Usually donations. Do all downtown merchants donate to help this festival stay downtown? This is something to think about.

It won't be blue plum if it's not downtown

Sounds like a great idea. Looking forward to celebrate diversity downtown and being able to support our local businesses.

I think it should be left as it was. If it isn't broke, don't try to fix it. If it's about money, then find a way for people to make a donation during the festival.

Blue Plum should have stayed where it was, but we want something there.

The down street streets festival has become a tradition. It would be a shame to see it end.

I would like the festival to have another agenda in mind....if you are going to have families then don't turn it up not a drunk fest as it is. I worry for everyone's safety with the type of atmosphere it turns into. I've been disappointed in the Blue Plum since the start because of the people it attracts. We need to have the festival revamped and then we can be concerned where it takes place.

I have lived in TN for the last 12.5 years and always take my son downtown to see the different vendors and for the last couple of years I let him go and hang out with his friends and enjoy this time. I could understand if Johnson City was a HUGE city as to why make it a paid festival but it's not (by my standards anyways). The majority of people that go to the festival have lots of kids and this is something they're able to enjoy for little to no money. It needs to stay where it's been for the last 16 years...downtown! Plus, that's really the only time I actually go downtown and enjoy seeing the little shops and seeing some new ones that weren't there the year before.

The fact that the Blue Plum festival is moving is a clear sign the organizers are concerned more about money than bring to citizens together and supporting local merchants. I will gladly attend a different festival held downtown rather than go to the money grab known as Blue Plum.

This is how the elite jcpd rounds up folk for the good ole boy clubbing party ! Corral em up ! Done deal ! Pay for that justice building.... did i say justice ? Naw.

1,000 signatures seems like it would do virtually nothing in a city that is occupied by over 65,000 citizens, but hey, why not? Might as well form a Kickstarter page as well.

The blue plum was downtowns revitalization, it is just obscene to take that away from the businesses it has drawn in.
