The downtown area is referred to as the Blue Plum Village. The Blue Plum Festival should not be moved to Founders Park and be a fort profit festival.

It is rediculous to ruin a festival we all look forward to. Let them have another "festival" in the park at another date and call it the "Greedy Frog" or something like that!

Why does it need to be moved? Why can't it just be expanded? It seems that would be a better solution and better accommodate the crowd. Win win...

Part of the fun of blue plum is wandering the streets and visiting the merchants there. So many musicians and venders and all free. It makes no sense to take that away. Expand it to the new area, sure. Have tickets events at the new park, sure. But I won't be there. I'll be in the heart of downtown roaming the streets and enjoying the FREE music and visiting the downtown merchants who are the heart and soul of festival.

I started my business in downtown Johnson City and still have many friends with their businesses who rely on the foot traffic and extra business the festival would bring. I was disappointed to find that the main festival would become an exclusive event, charging admission and shutting out the majority of Johnson City as well as the business owners.
