The trams are a significant tourist draw and should continue to be seen as a package, part of the transport system.

I cannot believe this decision has been made without any discussion with the manx public. Why has so much time, and money been spent in recent months on plans and consultation re the move of the trams onto the walkway? If this was their plan. The amount of money spent on that plan should be made public. In my opinion, moving the trams to the promenade was a terrible plan in the first place. Only when the trams have gone will the powers that be realise what they have lost the horse trams are unique, anywhere else in the world would appreciate them and safe guard their future. We as manx residents must look after our manx heritage for future generations. How many times has the loss of Peel to Ramsey steam railway line and the Queens pier been regretted? We must not let the horse trams be added to that list.

Loved riding the trams when we came as a family to the TT'S in the 80's, then came again on my own 2002/2003, just think it's wrong

I've ridden the horse tram along the prom many times to get to and from work. It would be a travesty to get rid of this fabulous tradition and tourist attraction.

The decision to scrap is short sighte and short-termist; it needs to be reviewed and reversed.

We must not let the Trams be scrapped. In part the decision will have been made to help with the Douglas Prom regeneration as the Horse Trams have been a major problem in getting a design that works. Also how much is it going to cost the public for another redesign of Douglas Prom without the Trams??? Let the Manx tax payers / rate payers, island wide, pay to keep this Historic Horse Tram service and take Douglas Council out of the equation. The whole idea of the Douglas Prom regeneration was to give it some sense of identity (as well as a descent road surface). Take the Trams out of the equation, what do you have left, a Prom that could be almost anywhere.
