We need to keep this iconic and unique service, which is worth much more to the Isle of Man economy than the sum of its ticket sales.

Horse trams are a national asset and should be funded from central government.

If it's always about money what will be next? I was disgusted in the 'throw away' attitude this announcement was first made

The Island cannot continue to lose its tourist attractions. The hidden benefits of continuing to run the tram system has been overlooked in the decision to axe it.Should it be the Douglas ratepayers or the islands tax payers footing the bill?

This iconic part of Manx heritage cannot be lost.

Please bring this back into government control! This is heritage and I am sure someone creative can look at other ways in obtaining private funding! It is incorrect to put a tourist attraction under the control of the local government! I have also heard it said its loosing money, the nhs looses money, but it still continues despite this! Definitely a debate is needed in Tynwald re this!

Again another example of big decisions being made without any public consultation!

The Horse Trams are not just a means of transport or important tourist attraction, they are a part of Manx Culture and Living History and as such should be preserved for the pleasure and interest of this generation and those that follow.

Closure would be a great loss for tourism.

This decision has to be reconsidered - once they have gone they will be lost forever. The Island has already lost quite a lot of the things that make it unique.

what a blinked decision by Douglas . It is as worth preserving as a heritage I.O.M feature. MNH plus MHK's should censure this , the whole Island community should support this Manx feature and take responsibility away from Douglas Council.

I wholly support the retention of the Douglas horse trams . This decision to phase out this icon of Manx transport is total madness. In the enlightened times that we live in there must be a way forward to save this gem for the Isle of Man

Cannot allow this icon to be just swept aside.

We must keep this unique service going. It would be madness to destroy it.

Just out of interest, can the MHK`s be voted out? May have been asked already. My parents took their family on the Trams, I took my young family on the trams, and my children should be able to take their family on the trams. Shame on you.
