This & that steam railway are so under marketed - lack of use might be to do with a lack of vision. Poor, poor decision

The trams are part of Manx National Heritage and must be retained as such

People come to the island because we have steam railways and horse driven trams which hark back to a more innocent, gentler age.

Surely this piece of Island history has to be saved. None other like it. Incredibly short sightedness of the "people" who are surposed to represent the wishes of the public. How do they expect us to trust any of their future "assurances " when they are failing us so badly!

Heritage is disappearing so quickly I find it very sad

A thoroughly short sighted move. Douglas council don't get rid of one of the things that make the IOM unique and part of the reason for visiting this wonderful island.

Why on earth would they get rid of something so unique to the Isle of Man!! I think this is because they couldn't decide where it fits it to their regeneration project for the prom.

Will be a sad day if the trams go. I don't recall the public being asked for an opinion!

A great loss to the I.O.M.s heritage.

As a "come over" to IOM I have used the teams, cursed the trams and taken my daughter and friends to visit the horses. The point is, they have been synonymous with my life here for almost 16 years and I believe they are as integral as the steam trains and electric trams. They are part of the heritage of this island.

I left the Isle of Man a few years ago now but always reflect on heritage aspects such as the horse trams. When I take my husband to visit the Isle of Man I would really like him to see this. I know it has been loss making for years, but it is one of those opportunities that creates memories and inspires care and community spirit somewhere which is often lacking on society these days. My family and I have photos of the trams and friends who used to visit me there too, and what a shame it would be to lose that for the future generations.
