Whilst I do not concur with the wording of this petition "vow to vote against our sitting MHK's at the next election if this measure is allowed to occur." I do agree with it's main aim, which is to save the Douglas Horse Trams. These should have a World Heritage status, being above and beyond needing to operate independently at a profit. The Horse Trams are a major part of our tourist industry and far too important to be scrapped to save a few pounds from the Douglas Council's annual budget.

We must keep the horse trams. They are part of the Isle of Man. I am wholeheartedly in support of this petition and will be voting at the election to this end.

Quite frankly I'm disappointed such a decision was made without public consultation. I whole heartedly support the backing of this group to safe guard our heritage for future generations.

Such a shame they are trying to get rid of such an iconic attraction. I have many fond memories of the horse trams and truly believe they should remain in service. The horses are treasured and well looked after, the rolling stock is an important part of Manx history and should be preserved. Save the Horse Trams!

It's the last horse tram in Europe, it's an insane decision to close it for few money!

As a visitor with roots on the Island, I, as a child, was taken on the Horse Trams as well the other forms of transport on the Island to experience that Manxness. I have subsequently taken My own children to experience the same. The loss of such unique and culturally important elements to the very fabric of manx culture is a travesty. The things that define Manxness are innovation, creative solutions, defiant independence. A strong sense of identity and pride in local culture. This cannot go undisputed.

this is an iconic feature of the Isle of Man and Douglas. It is a unique symbol of the r Isle of Man. The Horse drawn trams should not be scrapped. Granddad Tom Woods would be so distressed to see this happening to his home town.

This has to be retained. It's part of your heritage that visitors love to see, use and enjoy. It'd be a dieing shame to see it go.

A very short sighted and unnecessary move. I hope at election time the councillors are made to suffer.

Terrible that this historical service will be dispanded by a group of short sighted people who will probably gain in some way by disposing of it, with back handers. Shame on you. Keep the horse trams, the tourists love them, they are iconic. What next selling off the laxey wheel to a rich businessman in dubai??!!!
