I am spanish, but been on the island for over 14 years. I love the first time of the year when I hear the tram on the prom. It marks the arrival of warmer days and exciting festivals. I also love to show it to visitors. I am genuinely upset to see it go. So is my 6 year old daughter. She loves to read and remember the names of the horses. I promise we will use it a lot more if it stays! :)

Hard income i.e. paying Passengers vs running costs is not robust financial measurement. Collateral revenue this iconic service undoubtedly attracts is immeasurable. Do not destroy more of our heritage. I despair with the quality of 'councilor' we have serving us, seemingly devoid of intelligence and critical thought. The chap rounding up seaweed on the beach a prime example!

I am so disappointed that the government would even think of taking such a big part of our heritage away!

Once it's gone it's lost forever. First this, what next?

There is a bigger hidden cost to losing the trams than just what appears in the accounts.

In mounting business cases for rail services and lrojects even massive ones such as Crossrail in London it is essential to examine wider benefits particularly the economy, regeneration and tourism. The rail transport heritage in the IOM is in this category and needs to be viewed as a whole. Simply degrading the highly visible element of this at Douglas does not suggest that a proper appraisal has been undertaken looking at the numbers being quited. Time to think again. Been coming to IoM for 40 years. Won't be the same without the horse trams.

I never tire of seeing & hearing the tram going about it's business on the prom. It's a wonderful site sound and tourist attraction. Please dont lose this icon.

The horse tram is one of the main reasons that people visit the Isle of Man

Please don't get rid of the iconic horse trams. I am a Douglas rate payer and don't mind paying for this but I do mind paying for so many councillors!

A part of our heritage and a part of what makes the Isle of Man unique. Is this really to solve the problem of where the tracks should be? Shame on the Isle of Man government!

I would hate to see this lovely tradition go, I cannot understand why they, who are "they"? want to take away one of the main reasons people go to the IOM.

Share the costs by everyone paying the same rates Island wide.

Even in times of austerity we need things which improve our quality of life including gardens, museums and the horse trams.
