this is one of the iconic parts if I.O.M. and yes i have seen them in action and i ask please KEEP THEM

Please reconsider getting rid of this national treasure. When it's gone Itll be to late. Let the taxpayer have a say .

How to lose tourists for the Isle of Man! How short sighted and stupid!

Please don't close this iconic Manx institution - it'll just backfire and make Douglas far less of an attraction. The horse trams are so unusual and wonderful - they are always worth a visit. How about other ways of making it pay, e.g. fund raising, charity 'dos' or the like? I'm sure that people would be happy to financially support this if only they could!

This is part of the islands unique heritage, discontinuing it would be like knocking down the Laxey wheel.

The horse trams are part of the much vaunted vintage transport system. Keep them, government!

No way can you scrap the horses, they're an island heritage that must be continued.

Please don't let a bit of Manx history disappear, the horse trams are every bit as important to the island as the TT, steam trains, electric railway, Castle Rushen, etc.

Please keep our heritage, the workers need it, the horses need it and the island needs it. Is it possible to relocate perhaps or change the running of it only slightly so it runs less in the day/week etc..... must be alternatives for the time being to try first??

You will always have cars but once these are gone they will never be back, keep them!

The MER press release encapsulates my views perfectly. We can't lose the horse drawn trams, they are a massive tourist draw. Kids love them and older people get to travel the prom easier than walking and in fabulous fashion. Don't let our heritage be eroded further, the Island loves these guys, don't let it be scrapped. That's tantamount to being criminal.

The powers that be are hell bent on destroying our grandchildrens heritage . Think back some years to the decision to axe the Peel and Ramsey steam lines . Wrong very wrong . In my opinion the steam railway to Ramsey and Peel would be earning the island a small fortune , and attracting many rail fans

Please give this historical attraction the heritage status it deserves. It defined my childhood as well as many many others and makes the promenade the iconic destination it is.

I have grown up with this and the sound of clopping hooves on the Prom every summer. Too easy to get rid of and future generations will judge. Douglas has suffered enough through disgraceful planning decisions, the town has become grey. Our horsetrams bring colour and a sense of stability in a world full of change. To lose them would be disastrous.

It's so relaxing for children with special needs. My son will miss it :(
