The horse trams are part of the island's heritage and should definitely be saved. It's part of the beauty and uniqueness of the island and a very useful and necessary link for tourists between the electric railway and the sea terminal/bus station/steam railway. It's something worth fighting for.

Why are the Gov so intent on destroying the Manx heritage and tourism. Others are re-introducing such attractions but IOM wants to scrap it.

This tramway forms a major part of the IOM culture and heritage and is invaluable because there isn't another world wide. Visitors will always come to see the Victorian network - but it must be kept in its entirety. If it costs the same as the library many of which are being shut down - I'd rather see the money used there to keep the trams going.

It would be complete folly -- and not at all forward-thinking -- not to replace the track for the horse trams, which should be relaid along the entire length of the Promenade, i e, from Strathallan to the Sea Terminal.

Leave the Horse Trams alone. They are an attraction & in this ever "get there quick" society a peaceful alternative. Get rid of motorists on the prom, it is their bad driving that causes the hold-ups.

Don't let us lose another of our historic Island attractions, turning the promenade into a soulless lump of black tarmac and lined with ever increasing numbers of private flats. What's the good of MNH if they allow them to disappear?

Tacking away this iconic feature of the great isle of man is like pulling down the Eiffel tower for a car park ! don't let the bean counters win,the reason people like me come to your beautiful island is so I can ride the trams, if this is the way things are going I will reconsider coming over ever again, good luck to this petition.

Why do people won't to scrap everything that has been part for the since when I have very happy memoirs of my grandma taking us to the Island and this was always part of our day .just keep your fingers to yourself

I'm signing because Tourism is so important to the Isle of Man, and this very unusual feature should be saved. Soon this island will be a very uninspiring place unless we maintain our heritage. Plus, you have a staff that is well trained and horses that are well trained, which is very rare. These skills are not easily replaced. If the buildings are sold off for development, the city council are fools. These buildings were built for a specific purpose and will be irreplaceable if destroyed. If the city can't make money with it, sell it to someone who is willing to keep it going as a business or get the community involved to run it as a non-profit organization. Charge the same fares and use the money to cover the costs of feed, maintence, and upkeep of the horses and equipment. For a horse car line that was sustainable before the city council took over, get it out of the hands of the city. They didn't even give it time to make money after the reconstruction of the promenade.
