The horse tram is a rarity and an iconic tourist attraction for the IOM. It should be retained and marketed along with the heritage railways as a 'must do' for visitors and residents alike.

In 2014 I finally realised a life long ambition to sample the unique transport attractions of the Isle of Man. Douglas without its horse tram is unthinkable to me and, should it be scrapped, I would think twice about ever returning there again. Please do not do this.

Rode on the horse tram as part of a visit to the Isle , and cannot understand why you would want to get ride of such an important part of your history.

Some things are more important than a few miserable shillings on the rates., This is a World Heritage quality attraction they want to throw away for their own devious ends.

This unique, ecologically sound tourist attraction must be saved for today and all future generations.

I've visited the Isle of Man twice and love the tram. Axing it would be sacrilege.

I cannot believe that in this age there are philistines who could put forwards such a proposal. It is people such as these who illustrate just what is wrong with society today. They are worse than the Taliban! No doubt there is a development of the front in the background, that they have their fingers in! Stop them!

Use to go to Douglas , in the 60s from Wallasey on holiday . The Horse Tramway , must be kept ,as it is a big Tourist draw card . As the electric tramway is now , also the steam railway would be even better had the Government had put more money into that , as that would even do a lot better . I wish you all the very best in keeping the Horse Tramway . Cheers Bill.

The horse trams are part of the wonderful transport heritage that is the Isle of Man and the reason why many people visit the island , myself included, watching those horse drawn trams clip clop along the street is a marvelous attraction and should be preserved at all cost.

The horse trams are one of the things that make the Isle of Man special. I would be so sad to see Douglas without them.

I absolutely love the horse trams and without them Douglas wouldn't be itself! I used to go on them as a child and would one day love to take my children on them.

The Horse trams are part of the Islands magic they must preserved and treasured for generations to come. The island will never be the same without them, it is one of the main reasons I visit!

I have been intending to visit the island for a while now, but I definitely won't be after this is closed.

We are losing too much of our history

One of the highlights of our visit from Australia back in 2014. Close the Douglas Horse Trams and you are closing a piece of unique history. The promenade is big enough to include the Trams and modern day transport.

Unbelievable that the Manx authorities should be planning to shoot themselves (or their tourist industry) in the foot in this way.
