The Horse Trams are very much part of what makes the Isle Of Man unique as a holiday destination

Save the trams!

It would be a big mistake to scrap the horse trams as they form a major part of the history and culture of rh Isle of Man.

A key component of the attractiveness of the Isle of man for me will have gone. I shall not visit again if this goes ahead

This is a very short sighted decision - would they demolish the Laxey Wheel if it did not pay - I don't think so. Loss of the Douglas Horse Tram would deprive the world of the only such tramway still operating in its original location and for its original purpose. It would be a very great loss to the Island and the UK as a tourist destination if it were to be closed.

feel that the horse trams are iconic and are "something different" which is what the Isle of Man is all about

I cannot believe they would do such a self destructive thing! It is such an iconic feature and significant attraction to the IoM. Douglas Corp may save some money short term but Douglas and IoM will be the losers in the long term.

Disgraceful to take away such a wonderful tourist attraction - I have been visiting the island for over 30 years as have my parents and love the horsetrams - there is more than enough money on the island to keep this service running!

Douglas is a very special place, it has a unique feeling that no other city can quite match. I rode the Horse Tram one time in my one visit to Isle of Man. I plan to visit again but without the Horse Tram I think Douglas will not be the same.

Just to say..... How sad I feel about the HorseTrams which formed a huge part of my childhood holidaying on the island. My own children have also enjoyed them and it gave me great pleasure to show them that/praying they will return even if it's just for a small part of the summer season as tourism has declined. I think the horse trams are one of the most interesting attractions of the Isle of Man and would not like them to be removed. They are one of the main reasons for visiting the island, and I am sure many tourists will be turned away if they disappear..

I have been considering visiting the Isle of Man later this year for the purpose of enjoying its tourist attractions. In my view the horse tramway is the chief of these and its removal, were it allowed to take place, would weigh heavily against the likelihood of my contemplated visit materialising.

Surely successful tourism depends on preserving the unique heritage handed down to us. The horse trams seem to surely be a major visitor attractions and the island and particularly Douglas will be poorer without them. Destroying heritage in this way will eventually make Douglas just another ordinary town. Please think again.

Have you lost your marbles? For an island which relies so heavilly on tourism to abandon one of its greatest assets is scandalous.

My late grandad drove the trams, holiday favourite and MANX history about to disappear again.

Please save this wonderful Horsetram.

I accept the need for road repairs and the problem of traffic congestion in Douglas (too many cars). But to give but one comparison, the City of London has road congestion problems, but no-one suggests tearing down St Pauls and the Tower of London, and replacing Tower Bridge with a multi-lane flyover to solve it!

The tramway is a piece of Manx living history which, when closed, will be gone forever. This should not be allowed to happen .

Have been visiting the island for 50 years I am coming in July but without the horse trams it will be our last visit
